Are you doctor mom? Most mommies in every house hold is the "go to doctor" that gets presented with some health issue by another family member before the real doctor is consulted. I think it's human nature as mom knows best. She looks at that weird bump on your arm, or that sore throat, and even gets you over that bad headache. Even though this is standard practice, mom is still no MD. Most of the time, mom will be right but she could still miss something that could be dangerous to ignore. Here are 10 symptoms you should never ignore according to several doctors:

Problems losing weight

This is not the problem "I can't stop eating snack cakes." We are talking about eating less for several months while exercising and seeing the scales not drop the numbers. This problem is commonly a symptom of polycystic ovarian syndrome, a hormonal imbalance found in women, more xiaflex. As many as 1 in 10 women suffer from this health problem. It can start at an early age and left undiagnosed for years. After 10 or more years the symptoms start to get worse. Some signs are adult acme, irregular periods and thinning of the hair. With the correct diet and medication, this can often be reversed and you could start to lose weight.

Being really thirsty all the time

Being really thirsty all the time and urinating a lot are 2 very good warning signs of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes will double your risk of heart disease and can lead to strokes and some types of cancers. Being diabetic is a serious illness and you should never go untreated. Lack of exercise and being overweight can play a huge factor in developing this disease.

Changes in testicles

Men have a one track mind when it comes to sex but they lack being attentive when it comes to sex organs. Men should be watching for changes in their testicles like lumps, soreness and swelling. These are not normal changes a man goes through. These could all be signs of testicle cancer. Seventy-five percent of all cases happen between 25 to 45 years of age. Your never too young to ignore your body and think your not going to develop any serious health issues.

Tightness in neck

Most everyone gets a crick in their neck at some point. Those long days at the office can be strenuous on your body, but if you or your kid has a stiff neck followed with a headache you need to go to the ER immediately. This is a symptom of Meningitis, an infection that inflames the brain and spinal cord. It is rare but it can be deadly. If you kid can look up at the shy and down at their feet and light doesn't bother them chances are they don't have Meningitis. Just make sure your kids have a booster shot before they start college.

Regular heartburn

If your using an antacid more than once a week you have a serious problem that needs to be treated by your doctor. Stomach acid going up into your esophagus is causing scare tissue in your esophagus and can lead to cancer. Your doctor may prescribe medicines such as Nexium or Prilosec.

Bleeding gums

Bad breath and receding gums are just part of a more serious problem when you see red on your toothbrush. Many studies have shown that gum disease is linked to heart disease and strokes. The inflammatory response from gum disease can be increasing harmful chemicals into your body. This usually just affects adults but kids with poor eating habits and oral hygiene are at risk too.

An ugly mole or spot on your skin

Most everyone has a few moles on them but if you see one lot like the rest, then it's time to go see the Dermatologist. This could save your life. Some are small but turn deadly. Melanoma cases has increased by 30 percent in the last 10 years. Young women are on top of this list. The places on women to be looking out for is on the torso and legs. On men the hot spots are the back and chest.

Throbbing feet

If you go to bed and have a throbbing pain in your foot all night this is one sign of a stress fracture. These fractures occur because your bone can't take the force of repetitive moments. This could be a sign of low bone density. The usual treatment is to relax and rest but some fractures requires a splint.

Pot bellies

No, not a pot belly pig but a pot belly on the pig you have become. Did you know that a waist line over 40 inches on men and over 35 inches on women doubles the risk of dying from a heart attack? Some of this fat on our waist actually goes deep into our body and hugging around vital organs. Other risks of a fat waistline are diabetes, stroke, some cancers and dementia.

A sharp elbowing your partner may stop the noise but the problem may be much more serious and you should not ignore it. Snoring is a sign of a serious problem known as sleep apnea, a condition where the airway becomes temporally blocked. People with sleep apnea have higher blood pressure and risk of heart disease. Best cure for this condition is to lose weight.
