I had a bunch of mosaic tiles that we have zero plans for. I needed something super quick for my 4 year old to do since we have not done anything fun like this in a long time because until Isabella (1 month old) is a little older, it is hard to do sit down arts, crafts, and activities with Esmeralda when I am also taking care of my 22 month old boy. So here it is, our quick bottle fun made into a rolling rainbow!

Hello Home Learning Journey readers. I am happy to be here to help Kendall out while taking time to prepare or care for her new baby. I would love to share with you one of our favorite things to do, paint.
Paint with yogurt
We love to paint at my house as most kids do. I love finding edible foods for them to paint with. This is great because my toddler loves to put everything in his mouth! It is also a great sensory play activity to paint with food. For this day we chose yogurt.

This cute cheerio necklace is such a simple and easy activity to do with your young ones! The best part is they can do most of this all by themselves while working on their fine motor skills and you most likely already have all of this at your home! It also makes for a fine snack when done!
What You Need:
Cereal with a hole in it (i.e. Cheerios, Froot Loops, etc.)
Yarn or string
Scissors to cut the string
What You Do:
Measure string around child's neck and then cut at
My 3.5 year old daughter is getting very excited for her baby sister to be born. She knows she is coming before her fourth birthday in February. Baby is arriving on February 13 and Esmeralda's fourth birthday will be three days later on the 16th. She likes to pretend that she is growing a "baby Isabella" in her belly like mommy is. She is also very involved in picking things out like fabric for the rocking chair and also helping me get her room set up.
For Christmas, my brother's family
Esmeralda and I are taking a break from her usual stuff until after New Year's, so we are just doing random fun projects. We wanted to try this Do It Yourself Bubble Shooter project, but it was not working out for us. Hardly any bubbles would come out at all. My 3.5 year old quickly found something else to do: growing bubbles!
What You Need:
Water
Baby wash
Straw
Container
A child ready to have fun with bubbles!
What You Do:
Mix one part baby wash and one part water together
For math last week, Esmeralda (3.5 years old) and I wanted to explore the different kind of lines there are. We decided to explore straight lines, parallel lines, and curved lines. You could do this same activity and include other fun lines, like perpendicular or zig-zag lines! I wanted to do something a little seasonal as well, so I found free clip art of an elf carrying presents and a North Pole sign. I then created the idea of helping each elf get to the North Pole with this line matching
Today Esmeralda and I not only wanted to play with play-doh, but we wanted to create Rudolph with play-doh! We watched a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie a couple of days ago and since then, I have had this idea floating around inside my head!
What You Need:
Brown and red play-doh
Twigs/sticks to make antlers and a mouth
Googly eyes
Toilet paper roll
What You Do:
We wanted a Rudolph that could stand up, so we used a toilet paper roll to put our brown play-doh
Esmeralda is 3.5 years old and can spell her name, so I wanted to start working on writing her name by tracing her name.
I had her spell her name for me one letter at a time and wrote each letter with chalk. After we spelled/wrote down her name, I gave her a purple crayon to trace the letters I had written for her. I loved learning as a child too, so it's fun to see my daughter love to do these kinds of activities as well. Plus, the library will not give her a library card of her own
