Nature Alphabet Book: Mockingbird

For letter M, I chose for us to learn about the classic mockingbird.  We found a picture and Mockingbirda ton of information about the mockingbird at BirdWatching-Bliss.com. Here are some things we learned:

  1. Less than a foot long!
  2. Eat insects, fruits, and berries!
  3. Males build nests and females line them, a process of 4-8 days!
  4. Lay blue-green eggs marked with brown, about 3-5!
  5. State bird of 5 states: Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas!

Esmeralda enjoyed learning about the mockingbird, though she thinks they are yucky for eating insects.

Here is Esmeralda’s coloring page of mockingbirds!
