This week for letter O has been all about otters! Esmeralda and I have been reading Oscar Otter, an I Can Read Book by Nathaniel Benchley. For letter M, I chose for us to learn about the classic mockingbird. We found a picture and a ton of information about the mockingbird at BirdWatching-Bliss.com. Here are some things we learned:
Less than a foot long!
Eat insects, fruits, and berries!
Males build nests and females line them, a process of 4-8 days!
Lay blue-green eggs marked with brown, about 3-5!
State bird of 5 states: Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas!
