My daughter loves penguins, so when I signed up to participate in blogging with the other Winter Wonderland bloggers, I knew what that I wanted to do a fun arts/crafts involving a penguin! At first I was thinking of making a styrofoam penguin, but we are low on funds at the moment so I wanted a cheaper craft that was still fun to do! Thus, the idea of potato print penguins was born!

This evening Esmeralda and I took a container from the recycling bin to turn into our very own homemade Christmas rhythm instrument. This is really simple and you most likely already have what you need. If you do not, you will find all of this at the dollar store. Not only is this simple, but it is also a lot of fun! Esmeralda loves to shake it and listen to the "music" her rhythm instrument makes! If you do not celebrate Christmas, make the same thing and call it a holiday rhythm instrument
Even families who have small children can participate in breast cancer awareness. For the Go Pink! Blog Hop, I wanted to tell my oldest child, 3.5 years old, a very brief explanation that she could understand about what breast cancer means. Since she is so young, she would not understand the technical explanations. I simply told her that breast cancer is a bad sickness that people can get. I also told her that big girls like mommy and grandma should check themselves at home for signs
I wanted to somehow combine leaves and pumpkins in our outdoor play. I also wanted to include my 17 month old in this project too and not just my 3.5 year old since that's what most of my posts are about.
